Las Vegas Strip Dazzling Facts

Best Ways To Get To The Las Vegas Strip

Catch A Flight:

McCarran International Airport is the main commercial airport servicing Las Vegas. Shuttle buses run from the airport to Strip hotels, Downtown Las Vegas, and off-strip hotels.

Catch A Bus:

Greyhound offers bus services to Las Vegas with a terminal in Downtown Las Vegas.

Roadtrip:

Travelers driving to Las Vegas usually approach the Strip off the I-15 Fwy.

Las Vegas Strip COVID Protocols

To mitigate the spread of COVID-19 in Las Vegas, effective July 30 (2021), the State of Nevada has mandated that everyone, including fully vaccinated individuals, wear a mask in public indoor settings, including resorts and casinos, restaurants, bars, showrooms, and meeting spaces.

As of Aug. 16 (2021), all significant indoor events with 4,000 or more attendees can show proof of vaccination as an exception to the indoor mask requirement. Individual event organizers can choose between requiring masks indoors for all attendees or ensuring that all attendees are vaccinated (in which case they can remove their masks).

Local Customs

Drinking:

The drinking age in the United States is 21 years old – this applies for the Las Vegas Strip too. It is legal for pedestrians to carry open containers of alcohol on the Las Vegas Strip as long as they are in: plastic cups, paper cups, oraluminum containers.

Smoking:

Some casinos have banned smoking at table games, but most Las Vegas properties allow it in the casinos. Whatever you do, DO NOT SMOKE in a non-smoking hotel room. The fee charged to your room if you smoke is $500.

Gambling:

It’s important to learn the basic rules of games before you play them. Many casinos offer tutorials and free classes on how to play the games during the day! Talk to the resort concierge or the croupiers to learn more about the times.

Walking:

Walk to the right of the sidewalk. Step off to the side of the sidewalk if you want to stop to check your phone, look up directions, or want to take in a view. Since the Las Vegas Strip is so heavily populated this avoids any issues when walking amongst the crowds.

Public Transportation:

Allow others to disembark before boarding, don’t take up more than one seat, and stand to offer seating to pregnant women or someone with a disability.

Jaywalking:

Jaywalking is dangerous and illegal in Las Vegas, so don’t be caught jaywalking! The minimum fine for a ticket can exceed $350.

Casino ATM's:

Using a casino ATM machine is convenient and quick, but there are some downsides. For starters, you’ll pay an added fee in addition to whatever bank charges for using one of these machines; they can be expensive! Casino ATM’s charge a fee between $3.50 to $8.00 in addition to any fees your bank charges
