NHL Awards Ceremony After-Party at Rain Nightclub

The Palms Casino Resort was buzzing with famous athletes and celebrities as the NHL Awards Ceremony took place Thursday night (6.18.09).  Rain Nightclub hosted the after-party and NHL athletes in attendance included: Zdeno Chara and Timothy Thomas, Jr. of the Boston Bruins; Bobby Ryan of the Anaheim Ducks; Michael Richards of the Philadelphia Flyers; Jeremy Shaffer Roenick of the San Jose Sharks; Alexander Mikhaylovich Ovechkin and Sergei Viktorovich Fedorov of the Washington Capitals; Mark John Douglas Messier, retired NHL player who was inaugurated into the Hockey Hall of Fame in 2007; Pavel Valerievich Datsyuk of the Detroit Red Wings; and Patrick Kane of the Chicago Blackhawks.

Celebrity guests included: Grammy Award-winning musician Robin Thicke, professional poker player Daniel Negreanu, producer Jerry Bruckheimer, Golden Globe-nominated actor and director Kevin Connolly, actor William “Bill” Fichtner and actor Colin Ferguson.

Guests arrived at Rain Nightclub around 6 p.m. and headed outside to the Palms Pool & Bungalows where they mixed and mingled with friends, family and fans.  Many of the athletes were seen taking photos and signing autographs.  At 7:30 p.m. guests made their way to the main area of Rain where they were seen drinking water and beer.  Many of the NHL awards were displayed on stage.

Kevin Connolly was seen having dinner at N9NE Steakhouse. Wearing a checkered shirt, blue blazer and black loafers, Connolly indulged in the wedge salad, bone-in rib eye and a side of skinny fries.

Also dining at N9NE Steakhouse was Robin Thicke. Fashionably clad in a brown leather jacket and designer jeans, Thicke sipped on wine and mixed drinks, while enjoying the rock shrimp, shellfish platter and wedge salad for appetizers. For his main course, he feasted on the fliet mignon, accompanied by a baked potato.

At Playboy Club, John Dolmayan of System of a Down and Kerry Simon, celebrity chef and proprietor of Simon at Palms Place, partied at a VIP table. Accompanied for four other guests, they were seen talking amongst themselves and playing a few hands of blackjack.
